Penn Sargus Spinning Reel Shortages

There is currently a shortage of Penn Sargus Spinning Reels in the larger sizes. The 5000's and 6000's are nowhere to be found. I hope that they will be in again a few weeks before Christmas, but i'm not holding my breathe. Companies seem to either underestimate the amount of products they will sell, or they purposefully limit the number they import on the chance that the product bombs. When Shimano released the Trevala Rods two years ago, the demand far outstripped the supply. Even this summer there were month long shortages of the more popular models (TVC66MH, TVS66MH).

As a retailer, I am very happy that Penn introduced the line of Sargus Spinning Reels. They are all metal, and are as smooth as Stradics. The price is half that of the Shimano Stradic FI Spinning Reels and my guess is that they will continue to sell well into next year.
